Russell classification

Will George Russell be classed as a Mercedes driver in the Sakhir GP?

Re. Russell classification

Yes, he is already moved to Mercedes.

Re. Russell classification

i bought him and had the merc engine and chassis at the same time.... this seems a bit of a dodgy loophole?

Re. Russell classification

It is, will fix it for the next season, but for now we need to accept it as it is. :(

Re. Russell classification

Damn! I should have kept the merc engine then!!

Re. Russell classification

With only a few points between the top players and 2 races to go  “downforce with you” has 3 Mercedes element.

Isn’t it written in the rules that  we are only allowed 2 elements of one team !!! that a disqualification for breaking the rules!!!

Re. Russell classification

It was just a clever move. He (and I too) bought Russell while he was in Williams. So no rules broken. It is a flaw/loophole in the game that will be fixed for next season. Everybody could have done this, only a few were clever or brave enough to try it.

Re. Russell classification

We all thought of doing it. I guess Sportsmanship doesn’t come into it. !

Re. Russell classification

Playing the emotional card I see... Look guys, I understand your frustration, but it it is up to the game to sort this out.
We didn't do anything that was illegal in the game. It was a scenario that had not happened before, so it is actually a good thing that it has happened now, so F1FG can sort out how to prevent this in the future. This will make the game better.
I think we need to look at this in a calmer and more rational matter.
Take this scenario for instance: someone who plays this game in a more casual matter and is less involved like we all are, he has a team with Mercedes chassis and motor. Also he likes Russell and he has him in his team. He doesn't see the news in time, so his team still has Russell in it when he changes from Williams to Mercedes...
Is it fair to punish him? I don't think so.
It is up to the game to put some mechanism in place to prevent this from happening in the future. Or maybe we should just agree this is a loophole that might happen very rarely. But punishing players for some flaw in the game is simply not fair.
I think this problem could just have been prevented by locking the game for a short period while the news still had to be confirmed. Then give players that would have come in the position of three team parts a warning that their team needs to be adapted. And in case they might not see it in time (see the case I mentioned before), give them the chance to adapt their team after the deadline, and let them exchange the problem-part to a legal part after the race...
Lets think about this for the future instead of jumping to emotional and frustrated conclusions.

Re. Russell classification

Next year what about fixing it this year, it would send a clear message not to cheat, No matter how you paint it I think you knew what you were doing, I see it’s the first time you have had Russell in your team.

Re. Russell classification

I was curious to see what happened, if it was possible. I made a legal change to my team. It is a flaw in the game that was almost impossible to prevent for F1FG.
Everything I said is true, and it might have gone unnoticed if people hadn't tried it out. Think about this rationally instead of venting your frustration. Anyone could have done this.
It also will take careful planning and looking at different scenarios to put the proper changes in place. As the example I mentioned shows, it has different angles that need to be looked at.

Re. Russell classification

Oh thank you for saving the day, here have some rainbows and unicorns, if you hadn’t cheated we would never have found out, you are such a hero thank you for saving the game. pathetic, easy fix, deduct points for not following the rules to restore trust.

Re. Russell classification

For your information, oh frustrated one, I made the change BEFORE the actual switch was confirmed. Of course there were rumours, but I merely speculated.
Furthermore, all reasoning still stands.
There was a flaw in the game that allowed this to happen. I can not help it if you or anyone else are not rational enough to see that.
Everyone could have done this, and it might have happened even unsuspectingly without any speculation or knowledge.
So you can think of me whatever you want, I really don't care, and all you write down here will show more about yourself than it does about me.
Have a great race next week!

Re. Russell classification

I am with High on this you all need to get over this.
If you want to bitch complain to F1FG..
High and at least another half dozen others, I was thinking about it are guilty of this grievous travesty.
In the end will make little difference to the outcome.
Just admit they were smarter than you and kudos to them.

After this post I expect kick back so be it

Re. Russell classification

Really ? You want to make the game better but are advocating not to follow the rules, where’s the logic in that?

Re. Russell classification

Smarter A, Quiet In the cheap seats, It makes very little difference to you guys down the BOTTOM but it does have an impact on us TOP runners.

Re. Russell classification

Eejit, I’m with the rules following guys on this one, Seams like the longer playing players believe they are royalty & the rules don’t apply to them.

Re. Russell classification

 Hi everyone!

I am playing this great F1 game for about 4 years now, and like all fanatic players I am always in search for my best scoring team.

This has been a very strange and special F1 season, due to COVID-19. Earlier some players suffered badly when Perez was struck by Corana. This time Lewis was hit and Russell became a Merc driver.

This gave all players the same change within the rules of the game; putting together a team with Russell as a Williams driver together with 2 merc elements. But I guess it took some  ‘out of the box’ thinking witch only occurred to a dozen players. The other players didn’t, or thought about it too late. So I don’t regard this as cheating. I just had a crazy thought and it was allowed within the game.

Of course, before the start of practice 1, I thought that maybe it wouldn’t be allowed and would have excepted it if that would be the case. For example; F1FG could have send/show me a message that my team was illegal, or not ready for playing. In that case I could have easily switch to Perez instead of Russell. But that didn’t happen because it was regarded as a legal action within the rules of the game.

So I got rewarded for my ‘out of the’ box thinking and am happy. Sorry for the frustration by all the players who didn’t see it.

Maybe F1FG will do some changes in the 2021 game. But I think the game should stay as it is regarding this matter. Because within the game you can never anticipate to everything in real F1 life. What if, in 2021 you have a team with 2 merc elements and Russell as a Williams driver. For example Lewis gets an injury in practice 1 and Russell takes over in the Merc on Saturday. If the rules are changed, your team would be declared illegal scoring no points? That wouldn’t be acceptable I think…..

Cheers and stay positive!

Re. Russell classification

Of course you want the game to stay as is, cheating is the only way after 4 years of playing that you can win.  That’s the dark side, Downforce

Re. Russell classification

These alternate scenario’s are a bit holy joe. Pity there is no rule for 140 characters or blarney!
